Online Guide to Legal Services
If you need legal services insurance or just want to receive advice on
business management, asset management or debt management you have to go
to a lawyer. But not everybody has resources to hire an attorney.
There are nonprofit companies providing legal services to those who
are unable to hire a lawyer. These organizations are known as legal aid
organizations providing different types of legal services. They are
housing legal services, family legal services, real estate leases etc.
Legal voluntary organizations provide the possibility to get legal
representation without any fee. There are cases when they set a nominal
fee. These companies are usually organized by working attorneys or
students on the basis of donations from legal associations or by
state. There are states where attorney legal services are provided on
the basis of the interest earned from trust accounts of law firms.
There are lawyers providing legal services for free. Sometimes it is
because the
court appoints independent attorneys to help clients for free. Aid
organizations help people to cope with many issues but of course
can’t provide free legal services to every person. They
cannot
assist with some criminal cases and in case of accidents when clients
want to make others pay the damage. But voluntary legal services
company may help by giving information on where to get
assistance. Free legal services organizations usually handle the
following
legal problems:
Denial of benefits such as welfare, medical care, security
incomes and unemployment compensation.
There are such issues as evictions, confiscation of real estate
property, and problems with rent or deposits.
There are consumer problems concerning debts, warranties,
discrimination, bankruptcy procedures.
There are also family issues such as divorces, adoption, and
guardianship. Many voluntary legal services companies limit
representation in case of divorce if certain circumstances are present.
There are law issues concerning medicare and problems with nursing
homes and other care facilities.
There are juvenile cases of suspension from schools and other school
issues.
Many legal aid organizations also deal with certain cases concerning
immigration problems.
1964 was the year of creation of the Legal Services Office the aim of
which was to organize voluntary legal communities and provide different
legal aid services. Later this organization was replaced by a
non-profit one known as Legal Services Corporation. It finances legal
aid organizations, provides technical assistance and special training
programs for private attorneys providing legal services for free.
